Learn How to Taste Wine

When it comes to the fine art of wine tasting is your knowledge somewhat embarrassing? Do you know what to look for in a good wine? Can you choose a great wine at a restaurant? Are you able to find a wonderful wine (at a great price) to bring as a hostess gift?

To easily learn about how to select, taste and talk about wine, the easiest and fastest way is by taking a workshop. WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) courses are recognized around the world as being the best training you can get.

WSET workshops are available from beginner to expert levels. So if you want to learn the basics you can. You can also give your career a boost by taking Sommelier level training.

Once you complete a workshop, you can write an optional exam and receive your WSET certificate upon passing. If you complete the advanced courses you are entitled to use the title “WSET Certified.” What a great opportunity to expand your knowledge on wines and wine tasting.

As part of the courses you get to taste a complete range of different wines. Courses are offered as day courses, or as a series of night courses. And wow, do you ever get to taste wine. For example in the Foundation or Beginner wine course you will sample 8 different wines each evening. In the Intermediate wine course you will taste over 85 wines. The wines average $40 a bottle!

You can choose between three levels. The Foundation Wine Course In the Foundation course, you’ll learn about the types of wine and how to match them to your food. You’ll learn how wine is made and how to properly taste wine, and you’ll learn about local wines. Before the course is over you’ll have some basic wine knowledge.

In the Intermediate course, you’ll progress from where the Foundation course left off. You’ll learn about growing grapes and making wine, and take the art of tasting wine to the next level. You’ll also learn more about international wine. It’s an excellent course for wine enthusiasts or those working in the hospitality industry.

When you take the Advance course, you’ll earn your WSET Advanced Certificate. You’ll learn advanced wine tasting techniques, more about the many wines from around the world, labeling, Vinification, and Viticulture. You’ll also learn about fortified wines like Sherry and Port, as well as Spirits, and Champaign. There is plenty to take away from this course, building on your previous knowledge. You can use the knowledge you gain for your own benefit or to further your career.

With WSET wine courses, you’ll learn a lot about the fine art of wine tasting but you’ll also have plenty of fun learning. The workshops are given in a casual and relaxing format. You will have the opportunity to meet new people while learning about wine and tasting some of the best wines in the world.
